Summer get-togethers call for a certain style of drink, something iced and fruity that will refresh and enliven your guests. Check out this recipe for a delicious, non-alcoholic fruit punch that everyone can enjoy. Freezing the berries and fruits into ice cubes is optional, but it does add a fun extra level of fruity taste. You can substitute the lemonade for another citrus soda, or you could make this with a sugar syrup and sparkling water for a pared back flavor.

Ingredients (to serve 12):

  • 8 cups of lemonade (or soda of your choice)
  • 2 ice cube trays
  • 2 cups of strawberries
  • 2 cups of blueberries
  • 2 large oranges
  • A fresh bunch of mint

Instructions:

  1. Start a few hours in advance of when you want to serve your punch. Fill the ice cube trays with fresh water, and drop a slice of strawberry or a whole blueberry into each cube compartment so that the water will freeze around the fruit. Place in the freezer for at least 3 hours.
  2. To make the punch, pour the lemonade into a large serving jug.
  3. Finely slice the strawberries and halve the blueberries. Add these to the lemonade.
  4. Finely slice the oranges and add these pieces to the lemonade.
  5. Scatter the torn mint leaves over the top of the jug and add in the frozen fruit ice cubes.
  6. Serve immediately.
