Got Leftover Cake? Here’s How to Use It

We’ve all been there—thrown a party and had leftover cake and not known what to do with it. Sure you can always freeze it, but it never ends up tasting as good as it did when it was fresh. With these idea, you can make a whole other dessert with your leftover cake!

Trifle

For trifles combine bite-sized portions of leftover cake, layers of custard, whipped cream, fresh fruit, pudding, and jam. Be sure to match the flavors of your cake to the ingredients you choose.

Cake Pops

For cake with frosting on it, crumble it and press it into balls before putting it onto lollypop sticks. From there, lay the pops on a nonstick cookie sheet and freeze them for 20 minutes. When they’re hardened, melt a bar or two of chocolate and drunk the cake pops into the chocolate and then coat them with additional toppings of your choice before freezing them, allowing the chocolate to harden.

Ice Cream Topping

Sprinkle your cake on top of ice cream for a delicious dessert. To make it even better, throw your cake crumbs in the oven for a few minutes.

Cake Shakes

Throw your leftover cake in the blender with ice cream and milk to make a cake shake. You can take it to the next level by adding rum, apple brandy, or coffee liqueur.
