]]>One of the most popular asparagus pairings that are never going out of style, asparagus and cheese perfectly complement each other. It’s also one of the easiest combos to pull off since you just have to sprinkle some mozzarella or parmesan over your asparagus.
If you have a special place in your heart for bacon, this pairing will knock you off your feet. Asparagus and bacon taste their best when paired together, but you can also swap bacon for prosciutto to make your dish even richer.
Eating bacon with asparagus may not be an option if you’ve embraced a pescatarian diet. Luckily, there’s an equal delicious replacement that comes really close to this dish—asparagus paired with smoked salmon.
We made sure to leave the best for last because it truly doesn’t get much better than eggs paired with asparagus. This combo will put a spin on your next brunch and make you forget all about avocado toast.

]]>The first step of cooking asparagus is getting rid of its tough, woody lower ends. Since it’s pretty easy to break them with hand, you can bend each stalk, snap the edges, and get fresh asparagus for later use.
This method is pretty popular because there’s something incredibly satisfying about snapping asparagus, but it can also lead to unnecessary waste. Unless you break each stalk at the exact spot where it starts turning to white, you’re doing it wrong, plus this method can be pretty time-consuming.
If you’re short on time and don’t want any of your asparagus to go to waste, using a chef’s knife is a much better idea. It’s pretty much impossible to make mistakes with this method—just line up your asparagus on the cutting board, trim the ends with a knife and you’re good to go!

]]>Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Snap the woody ends off of your asparagus stalks. Throw out the ends and wash the asparagus that remains.
Mix olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Toss the asparagus in the flavored oil mixture. Spread it out on a lightly greased baking sheet and cook for ten to 15 minutes until the asparagus is bright green.
Remove from the oven and cover in a layer of mozzarella cheese. Return to the oven and broil for an additional five minutes until the cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly. Remove from the oven. Season with more salt and pepper to taste. Let it cool down just a bit, serve, and enjoy!
