Yogurt is an ingredient utilized in several cultures around the world. With its tangy flavor and the gut benefits of the probiotics, it is a great choice to use in the kitchen. Whether you’re swapping out something for yogurt to make it healthier or using it traditionally in a dish, yogurt is something to always keep around.

Tzatziki

Tzatziki is a traditional sauce hailing from Greece. The main ingredients are yogurt, diced cucumber, lemon juice, and plenty of fresh dill. The most important step in making this sauce is to try to drain away as much water from the diced cucumber as possible, as it will dilute the sauce. Once you’ve done that, through everything together in a bowl, mix, and serve!

Raita

Raita is an Indian sauce that can be thick or thin depending on your liking, and full of vegetables. Usually, you will find raita with things like shaved carrot, cucumber, onion, tomato, and herbs. You can also switch it up and use a jalapeno it, which will give it a slight kick but still mellow it out from the capsaicin that is found in dairy products.

Mayo Substitute

In most recipes, especially for things like chicken or tuna salad, you can sway out mayo for Greek yogurt!
