It is fruity, a little bitter, and gives off a gorgeous red hue once it’s been steeped. Make this agua de jamaica and you will be refreshed all summer long.

Ingredients

The basic ingredients for this drink is dried hibiscus flowers and water. If you can’t find any dried flowers, you can buy hibiscus tea. You can also add to the mixture fresh ginger, a cinnamon stick, lemon or lime juice, cloves, or mint. These are all extras but they give a really fantastic flavor to the drink.

Method

Pour all the ingredients into a container or jar and stir. Leave in the fridge at least a few hours but no more than 24 or the drink will start to get too bitter. Strain out all the ingredients, mix it again and enjoy! You can keep this delightful drink for up to a week in your fridge.
