Some people prefer a simple jelly donut and some prefer to use their donuts as a way of expressing themselves. If you’re the latter, these toppings will certainly excite you.

Guava and Cheese

The Salty Donut which is based in Miami, Florida was named as one of the best donut shops in the U.S. by Thrillist. Their best donut is made of a 24-hour-raised brioche which is topped with both guava and cream cheese, covered in a cream cheese glaze, and topped with biscuit crumble. Certainly a weird combination of flavors and toppings, but consumers of the donut have described how delicious it tastes.

Pad Thai

The Rebel Donut shop in Albuquerque likes to decorate its donuts in creative and adventurous ways. One of their famous donuts is the Pad Thai donut. The donut is topped with peanut butter, sriracha, and coconut. It’s spicey and sweet and worth the trip.

Cereal

When have you ever walked into a donut store and suddenly had that craving for a bowl of your favorite cereal? Well, why not just add cereal as a topping for your donut? The crunch of your favorite cereal on top of a delicious donut is almost a guarantee to get your mouth salivating. Next time you’re making a batch of donuts, make sure to add your favorite cereal as a topping. You’ll be surprised at how scrumptious the donut turns out to be.

Who doesn’t love paring a little snack with their study time? Here are a few healthy, simple, and most importantly delicious treats that you can reach for next time you’re looking for something to munch on while you get your study on. Your body and brain will thank you for it!

Veggies and Hummus

This one takes hardly any time at all! That’s unless you want to make your own hummus. Replace your chips and dip with a protein-rich hummus and a plate of carrots, celery, bell peppers, or cucumbers. This low-card option will make you feel full without the sleepiness that comes with heavy carbs.

Toast with Cottage Cheese and Cherry Tomatoes

This savory snack is quick, light, and tasty. Pop some wheat or wholegrain bread in the toaster, spread on some cottage cheese, slice some cherry tomatoes in half, add some pepper and other seasonings, and voilá! Another healthy and protein-rich treat to keep you full and focused.

Apple Slices and Peanut Butter

Does it actually get any easier than this? Slice up your favorite kind of apple and dip it in some chunky or smooth peanut butter. Looking to go slightly healthier than this? Grab some organic peanut butter instead. This snack will not only keep you feeling full and satisfied (thanks peanut butter), it might also keep the doctor away (thanks apples).

The Big Mac is a McDonald’s classic and although McDonald’s doesn’t sell their sauce separately and like to keep the recipe to the sauce a secret, it is actually pretty easy to make yourself at home and get very similar results.

Ingredients

Patties

  • 400g beef mince
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 sesame seed burger buns
  • 1/2 white onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 head iceberg lettuce, finely shredded
  • 2 slices cheese
  • 2 large dill pickles, thinly sliced

Big Mac sauce

  • 300g mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon gherkin relish
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • Pinch white pepper
  • 2 teaspoons mild mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

https://www.instagram.com/p/CGMfHQyjmPY/

Instructions

  1. For the Big Mac sauce, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk together, season with salt, and chill until ready to use.
  2. To make the patties, season the beef mince with both salt and pepper and form into four balls using about 1/3 cup beef mince each. Place each ball onto a square of baking paper and flatten them to form into four circles. Heat oil in a large frying pan over high heat. In 2 batches, cook beef patties for 1-2 minutes on each side until the beef mince is lightly charred and cooked through. Remove the patties from the heat and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining two patties.
  3. Lightly toast each burger bun.
  4. To assemble the burgers in the correct way, spread a little Big Mac sauce on the bottom burger bun. Add some chopped onion, shredded lettuce, a slice of cheese, beef patty, and some pickle slice. Then, add the middle burger bun and spread with some more Big Mac sauce, onion, lettuce, pickles, beef patty, and some more delicious Big Mac sauce. Top with the final burger bun and serve hot.

Voila! You now have a delicious Big Mac burger for half the price. Bon Appetit!

Whether you love them or hate them, leftovers are an inevitable part of eating and cooking. Some days you simply cook far too much, while on some other days you don’t have the appetite to finish the food that’s on our plate. Instead of throwing away all that leftover food, there are some great ways to help you love and get the most out of your leftovers.

Having doubts? Freeze

If you don’t think that you’re going to eat those leftovers after two days, just freeze them. Most foods can be frozen without any problem and not only will freezing leftovers ensure that you won’t throw them in the trash, but it will also help you save money and have a guaranteed meal for when you’re tired and don’t want to cook.

Label the food

You’ll be surprised at how common it can be to forget when you put your leftover food in the freezer. You may be sure that the pizza you had the other night was put in the blue container, but when you open the freezer to see it filled with UFO’s (unidentified frozen objects), you realize you have to scrummage through the containers to find that pizza you were looking for. Label your leftovers with what it is and when it was cooked in order to save precious time and to just make it easier on yourself.

Use the leftovers to create something new

If your leftovers are accumulating in the refrigerator, set aside a night where you’ll raid the refrigerator and create something new out of the leftover food. Try to master a couple of simple techniques that’ll help transform those unappetizing leftovers into a delicious meal. You can try make a pasta bake with that leftover pasta that’s been in the refrigerator for the last couple of days or make a soup from those leftover vegetables.

The English Breakfast is a national institution for the British. They love it, and it’s no secret that they love it either. In fact, it is so well known that the British love the English Breakfast that many Mediterranean resorts in Spain and Greece, where the British are known to go on vacation, sell this dish in their restaurants and cafes.

English Breakfast, which is also known as a “fry up” is not usually eaten every day, but rather, it is saved for weekends or bank holidays in Britain. Even though the dish has the word breakfast in it, it is usually consumed at around 11 AM for brunch

Now for the main discussion. What’s actually in an English Breakfast?

Well, the main ingredients are sausages, eggs that are sunny side up or scrambled, buttered toast, some strips of bacon, the English classic that is baked beans, mushrooms, and hash browns which is basically a fried potato. There are of course other ingredients that can be included in an English Breakfast such as tomatoes and black pudding, but they can easily be removed without getting noticed.
