A panini press is one of those kitchen appliances that you don’t know you need until you get one. They are able to take your sandwiches over the top while also proving to be helpful in all sorts of other ways, like grilling veggies.

The only downside of a panini press is the challenge of cleaning it. After each use, a panini press is usually left covered in grease and food leftovers that get stuck on the plates. Luckily, there is one simple method that you can use to sort that out. And it doesn’t include the use of expensive cleaning liquids or abrasive sponges that can destroy your panini press.

How to Clean Panini Press Without Ruining It

Cleaning a panini press in a safe and efficient way is quite simple. First, let it cool off and remove crumbs of food with a paper towel. Then make a mixture of warm water and plain soap, soak a towel in the mixture, and gently wipe your panini press. Then, use a towel soaked in plain water for a final cleaning step.

If there is still some food or grease left on the panini press, turn it on low and pour some water on the plates. Then close it and leave it turned on for a minute or so. The steam will work its magic on even the most stubborn stains and make them easier to clean.
