When we think of pancakes, we typically think of fluffy, doughy goodness topped with fruit, whipped cream, or chocolate. But, Dancakes’ makes this tasty breakfast staple into works of art that look almost too good to eat. His work shown on TikTok and Instagram is just the latest food trend getting lots of buzz following cloud bread, whipped coffee, and bread art.
Dan of Dancakes started as a fry cook at a diner in his hometown of St. Louis and he began by making smiley faces on pancakes to try and earn extra tips. After working at the diner for five years, photos of his work started going viral and he began doing birthday parties and special events.
The pancake artist combines his artistic and food skills to draw celebrities, cartoons, and more with colored pancake batter. His creations are almost too good to believe that they were made from pancake batter.
His pancakes celebrate holidays like the Chinese New Year and Halloween as well as animated characters from Frozen, Finding Nemo, and Pokemon. But not all of his work is cartoon art—he also has created celebrity portraits of Alex Trebek, Harry Styles, Joe Exotic, and Billie Eilish.
