A lot of people associate eating healthy with eating less. And, yes, portion control is very important. But if you’re just the type of person who likes to eat a lot, that doesn’t mean that things are absolutely hopeless for you. In fact, there are some foods that are high in volume – meaning you can eat a lot of them – while being relatively low in calories. Include these ingredients in your meals and snacks and you’re likely to be a pretty happy camper with lots on your plate.

Vegetables

There are lots of reasons to eat your veggies. But in addition to being packed full of nutrients, vegetables also tend to be pretty bulky while also having a pretty low number of calories. So if you can include things like broccoli, spinach, asparagus, mushrooms, carrots, and zucchini into every meal, you’ll have lots and lots of food to chew.

Oatmeal

One of the best breakfast foods you can eat if you’re a volume person is oatmeal. Because it soaks up so much water or liquid in the cooking process, it ends up being pretty voluminous while still maintaining a relatively low calorie count for being a carb. Plus, it’s a great source of fiber and has more protein and healthy fats than a lot of other grains.
