Cajun cuisine is one of the most underrated and delicious culinary traditions out there. Concentrated in Louisiana and Texas, this region produces some sharp, exciting, spicy, and delicious flavors that can help you to warm you up when it’s cold outside.

We always keep a home-made Cajun dry rub in our kitchen that’s great for using on hamburgers, chicken wings, pork, turkey, and all kinds of meats. You can also try grilling vegetables with it, too! Here is how you can make it in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 3 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

Take a glass jar or a plastic container with a tight lid and remove the top. Begin by adding the smoked paprika, and then the rest of the ingredients in order until they are all in the container.

Next, place the lid on top of the container and shake vigorously until you’re sure that all of the ingredients have been thoroughly mixed together.

Place in a cool, dark place and store for up to one year. Use it immediately before grilling any sort of meat or vegetable that you would like to use it for. Bon appetit!
