If you know Ina Garten’s Barefoot Contessa cookbooks you know that they feature dozens of incredible pasta recipes. But does she have a personal favorite? When asked this very question during a recent Q&A session, Garten revealed that she does, in fact, have a favorite and it’s the summer garden pasta.

“What you do is take a lot of cherry tomatoes and toss them with olive oil and let them marinate for four hours. Cook some capellini and throw it in there,” she said. “It’s really easy, and a great summer and fall pasta dish.”

All you need for Garten’s summer pasta is parmesan cheese, cherry tomatoes, minced garlic, and basil leaves. Indeed, the recipe requires so few ingredients it’s bursting with fresh flavors. Prep the garlic and basil and throw them in a bowl with your tomatoes, olive oil, and seasoning. Then cover the bowl and let it sit on the counter for about four hours. Once it’s ready, just cook the pasta and combine. Add some more cheese and basil on top and there you have it!
