Ingredients
To prepare the shortcakes you need:
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
10 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter cut into pieces
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 3/4 cups heavy cream
1 tablespoon baking powder
For the filling you need:
2 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
24 oz strawberries cut into quarters
Instructions
- The first thing you need to do is to set the oven to 375 F degrees and get 3 cake pans with a round shape. The size should be around 8 inches.
- Combine the baking powder, flour, baking soda, sugar, and salt. Mix them well and include the butter.
- Add the ingredients to a blender and pulse. Include the heavy cream and pulse again.
- Take the dough out of the blender and start kneading it. Divide it between the 3 cake pans. Place the pans in the oven for 25 minutes.
- In the meantime, you can prepare the filling for the strawberry shortcake. With an electric mixer, mix the vanilla extract and heavy cream. Pour the sugar and keep on beating.
- Get the first shortcake, and top it off with 1/3 of the strawberries, then 1/3 of the filling. Continue doing this with the rest of the ingredients.
