5 Types of Fruit That Don’t Belong Inside Your Juicer

A juicer is a pretty versatile kitchen tool, but don’t trick yourself into believing you can use it to juice every fruit you think of. Some fruits are better left out of your juicer, and these five fall under that category.

Pineapple

It’s not impossible to juice a pineapple, but if you want to get the best out of it, you shouldn’t consume it this way because it’s stripped of its healthy vitamins and fiber during the juicing process.

Whole Apples

You can juice apples, but cutting them into smaller pieces is your best bet. In addition to making the juicing process difficult, whole apples don’t belong inside a juicer because their seeds may be toxic.

Pears

Pears are another fruit that can technically be juiced, but probably shouldn’t be. They can release sorbitol, a non-digestible form of sugar that can lead to quick bowel movements.

Banana

Bananas don’t contain enough juice to be properly processed in a juicer, and it’s much better to blend them and make a smoothie if you want to transform them into a beverage.

Avocado

Juicing avocados is a waste of perfectly tasty fruit because they don’t contain a lot of juice, just like bananas, and blending them is a much better option.
