Green beans are an awesome, vibrant green vegetable that can be incorporated into so many delicious dishes. Green beans are really nutritious, because they can contain a lot of calcium and iron, two important minerals to keep your body and your bones strong. A lot of people automatically think green bean casserole, but green beans go way beyond traditional dishes. Give them a try with these two recipes!

Pan Fried

Before you cook the green beans, first blanch them in boiling water and put them straight into an ice bath. This will partially cook them and help them retain their bright green color. Then, saute them in a pan with garlic, and hit it with some lemon juice towards the end and steam them in the juice. They’ll turn out perfect crispy and fresh!

Roasted

For this recipe you simply need to put the green beans on a sheet pan with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and some Parmesan cheese if you want to go super savory. Pop them in a 425F oven for 30 minutes or until fork tender.
