Ahh, sushi. You know it and love it. And you pretty much know what to expect to be inside it, like raw fish, vegetables, and maybe an egg or cooked fish if the sushi chef is getting really creative. But if you’re making sushi at home, why not think outside of the box and try one of these unexpected fillings? You might never find sushi rolls like this in a restaurant, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t delicious.

Cheeseburger Sushi

How about a sushi roll filled with hamburger meat, cheese, sliced tomato, and lettuce? Roll it up and then drizzle some ketchup over the top. It might sound weird, but you’ll almost certainly find yourself reaching for a second and third piece.

Spam Sushi

If you’re Hawaiian and/or have ever had the pleasure of enjoying a Spam musubi, then this sushi roll is a no-brainer. Otherwise, it may sound strange, but trust us: Spam with rice and seaweed is an absolutely perfect combination.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sushi

Ready to get really crazy? How about sushi for dessert? Smear some peanut butter and jelly on the inside of your sushi before rolling it up. Don’t knock it until you try it.
