Girl Scout Cookies are an American Classic

Have you lived in the United States? If so, you have probably been lucky enough to have a girl in a uniform come to your door to try to sell you a wonderful product called Girl Scout Cookies before.

Girl Scout Cookies are a brand of packaged cookies that are sold as part of a fundraising drive by the Girl Scouts of America, a youth organization for girls in the United States that promotes positive values through activities like camping and community service.

They are perhaps best-known, however, for the cookies that they deliver to hungry households every year in the United States.

Girl Scout Cookies come in seven different main flavors which are offered on an annual basis: Thin Mints, Samoas, Do-si-dos, Tagalongs, Lemonades, Trefoils, and Thanks-a-Lots.

These cookies are made by commercial bakeries and then distributed to Girl Scout chapters throughout the United States. Thin Mints, which are thin, mint-flavored chocolate wafers dipped in a chocolatey coating, are the most popular variety, making up nearly a quarter of sales.

The company also offers up other flavors which are introduced as special offers that are not always available, and sometimes are only around for a year. For example, this year, a Smores-flavored cookie is being piloted.
