Once it starts to turn warm outside we swap out or hot coffees for iced coffees. Gone are the days where you have to run to your local coffee shop to get a cold cup of Joe. Iced coffee is a summer staple and it’s so easy to make at home. And there are ways you can make it even tastier. Here are three ways to take your iced coffee to the next level.

Replace the Ice Cubes

Iced coffee and espresso-based drinks are usually poured over regular ice to make them cold. This results in a watered-down beverage on hot days. To keep a concentrated drink, make coffee ice cubes by pouring cold or room temperature freshly brewed coffee into an ice cube tray and freezing it. After it’s frozen, add some coffee cubes to your glass and fill it with iced coffee.

Make Your Own Creamer

Store-bought coffee creamers are loaded with sugar, artificial flavors, and preservatives. So instead of using them, make your own with just three ingredients.

Add Some Sweetness

When you order coffee at your local shop, they usually have simple syrup or flavored syrup. You can purchase premade caramel, vanilla, and hazelnut syrups or you can make your own. Just heat up 1/4 cup of water and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and cook it until the sugar has dissolved and the liquid has thickened. You can steep whole vanilla beans or cinnamon in the warm syrup for more flavor.
