Make Sure You’re Using Your Oven Correctly!

A lot of people think that if you cook or bake something according the recipe and put it in the oven for the right amount of time, you’ll get the perfect dish. However, your oven can be a little trickier than that.

Oftentimes people don’t know how to use their ovens correctly, and if your cooking and baking isn’t turning out to plan, this might be the culprit.

Racks

There are several racks within an oven, and that’s not just so you can put more than one dish in there at a time. Depending on where you place your rack, your food will get cooked differently and at different speeds. If you place the rack towards the bottom of the oven, it is farther from the heat source, and at the top of the oven the reverse. So depending on how much heat you want on your food, place your racks accordingly! Also, if you put the baking dish all the way to the back of the rack, it will have a lot more contact with the heat.

Temperature

Sometimes ovens don’t read the correct temperature if they’re old or broken. The best way to make sure that your temperature is where you want it to be is to get an oven thermometer, so you know exactly what you’re working with.
