Yeah, we know, Christmas is about friends and family. But let’s be real—it’s also about the food! If you’re looking for some tasty appetizers or light dishes to serve over this Christmas break and New Year’s, then you’ve come to the right place. Here are five deliciously light dishes for you to enjoy over the holidays.

Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese

Perfect as a starter or a light snack throughout the day, choose some of your favorite bread or canapes and top them with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Delicious!

Apricot Blankets

These are similar to the classic pigs wrapped in blankets but made with apricots rather than cocktail sausages. Take a packet of dried apricots and wrap each one in a little streaky bacon and bake them in the oven.

Stuffed Mushrooms

Sprinkle some olive oil and garlic onto your mushrooms and lightly grill for around two minutes. Then stuff them with a breadcrumb, thyme, and rosemary mix. Serve grilled.

Spicy Prawns

Marinade your prawns in a sweet chilli sauce with coriander and roll in breadcrumbs. Bake in the oven before serving.

Loaded Potato Skins

Fill your potato skins with cheddar cheese, cubes of bacon, diced onions, spring onions and top with sour cream and chive sauce.
