Rachel Fong’s Desserts are the Very Definition of Sweet

With a YouTube channel titled Kawaii Sweet World, you can expect a heavy dose of cuteness from Rachel Fong. Known for her Kawaii desserts that focus mainly on baked goods, Fong aspires to make food that’s sweet on the inside and out! And with some one million subscribers on top of a massive following on Instagram, you’d want to take note.

According to Fong, she first took to YouTube at the mere age of 12, using the platform initially to share tutorials about polymer clay charm making, before making the switch to baking.

“I’ve always had a sweet tooth, so I loved baking with my mom when I was younger,” relayed Fong in an interview with Sweety High, where she talked about her passion for desserts. “She taught me all her favorite recipes, and then I started finding new recipes to make online. We had a new dessert every week in the house.”

According to Fong, one of her favorite recipes to make when she was younger was her mom’s chocolate chip cookies, “probably because it made a huge batch that I could snack on for the whole week,” she jokes.

These days her recipes are shaped around cute characters (mostly Japanese) and rainbow/pastel colors. Some of our favorite recipes of hers include her thick, fluffy pancakes and GIANT unicorn cupcake.

“It’s amazing to see how many people love to bake and craft kawaii things,” says Fong. “My favorite part of social media is when my subscribers share photos of treats they’ve recreated from my videos. I love that they’re able to have that experience of baking something cute and tasty, and I’m so glad they enjoy my videos.”
