Pancakes are the quintessential breakfast comfort food. But let’s be honest, sometimes they leave you feeling more like napping than conquering the day. Adding some protein into your pancakes can be a great way to transform this breakfast favorite, and keep you energized and satisfied. Here are three tips to try.

Greek Yogurt Powerhouse

Replace milk with an equal amount of plain Greek yogurt. This adds protein, healthy fats, and a subtle tang that pairs beautifully with sweet and savory toppings. You can also go a step further and add 1-2 scoops of your favorite protein powder (vanilla or chocolate work great!)

Cottage Cheese Champion

Don’t underestimate the power of cottage cheese. Blend it into your batter for a smooth and creamy texture, adding protein and calcium without affecting flavor. For a savory twist, add some shredded zucchini or carrots.

Whole-Wheat Warrior

Swap all-purpose flour for whole-wheat flour to give your pancakes a fiber and protein boost. You won’t miss the fluffiness, and you’ll feel fuller for longer. Add a scoop of your favorite nut butter to the batter for extra protein, healthy fats, and a nutty flavor twist. Top with banana slices and a sprinkle of cinnamon for a warm and satisfying breakfast.

Everyone knows the idea that breakfast is a super important meal of the day. It’s the first meal you eat after hours of sleep and it sets you up for the rest of the day. So it makes sense that what you have for breakfast matters, and a huge aspect of this is protein. High-protein meals help with muscle production and also stop you from having an energy crash. Here are some ideas for high-protein breakfasts.

Greek Yogurt and Fruit

This simple combo is delicious and healthy. It’s also great for people who find they don’t have a huge appetite at breakfast as it’s light but is still high in protein. You can choose whichever fruit you like best and even drizzle over some honey if you want.

Porridge and Nut Butter

This is even better for protein content if it’s made with dairy or soya milk. Again, you can choose whichever nut or seed butter you like best. Nuts and seeds are high in protein and healthy fats so make for a great breakfast.

Scrambled Eggs on Toast

This is perfect if you prefer a savory breakfast, and it’s also super filling. Any form of egg will do, but scrambled eggs are quick, easy, and delicious.

The great thing about eggs is that you can never get bored of them if you are willing to try out different recipes. If you are out of ideas by any chance, then make sure to give Yarin Shachagi’s herbed goat cheese and scrambled eggs toast a try. It is a breakfast perfection that tastes good and looks even better.

How to Make Herbed Goat Cheese And Scrambled Eggs Toast

Shachagi, who is better known as Bread Bake Beyond on social media, shared the herbed goat cheese and scrambled eggs toast recipe in a recent viral video on TikTok that quickly captured the attention of foodies.

Shachagi starts the recipe by adding goat cheese, chopped chives, chopped parsley, and black pepper in a small bowl and mixing them together until the ingredients are well combined. He then whisks three eggs in another bowl and melts a piece of butter in a non-stick pan on medium heat.

After the butter has melted, Shachagi adds the egg mixture and leaves it alone until the edges get firmed up. He then folds them over before adding an extra egg yolk and one tablespoon of crème fraîche and cooking the eggs until soft and creamy. He notes in the recipe posted on his website that you can use regular sour cream if you don’t have crème fraîche.

Next, Shachagi toasts up the bread after brushing it with some olive oil and spreads a generous amount of herbs and goat cheese mix on it. He tops it with scrambled eggs and finishes up with salt, black pepper, grated parmesan, and chopped chives.

Enjoying a balanced and healthy breakfast before you go the gym first thing in the morning is important if you want to have enough energy for exercising. Here are some light breakfast ideas that will provide you with energy but won’t weigh you down before a workout.

Toast

Toast is a classic breakfast dish that may seem a bit boring but it’s completely customizable and it won’t weigh you down first thing in the morning. Combine whole-grain bread with peanut butter, jam, or avocados to make a tasty breakfast.

Fruit

Fruit is great for boosting energy levels before a workout because it’s packed with carbs and also very easy to digest. That’s why you can grab a banana or an apple in the morning or you can enjoy a tasty smoothie on your way to the gym.

Frittata

There are plenty of ways to enjoy eggs for breakfast but you can try eating a small egg frittata with some cheese instead of plain old scrambled eggs.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is also a classic breakfast that you can easily enjoy before a morning workout. Add fresh fruit, non-fat yogurt and some nuts to oatmeal in order to fuel your body in the morning.
