If stored properly, cooked rice can last you several days. If you don’t know how to deal with leftover rice, it can dry up quickly and you’ll probably just toss it and make a new batch each time you want to eat some. However, there’s no need to do that day after day, if you know how to keep and reheat your rice so that it’s as good as freshly made.
A TikTok Trend
We recently saw a very clever hack on TikTok and had to share it. User @caloriequeen14 shared a video in which she shows how an ice cube can help you make your leftover rice perfectly good for another meal.
How it Works
Besides an ice cube and some leftover rice, all you need is a microwave. It may not make sense when you think about it. At first, we believed that the ice would just melt and leave us with a bowl of rice soup, but that’s not what happens. Once the microwave starts heating up the ice cube, the moisture actually steams the rice and helps it become tender and fluffy again.
This simple trick is effective every single time, and you can use it as often as you want. Watch the original TikTok video below.
