Junk food is a joint name for all the foods that don’t provide our bodies the nutrients they need, but only serve our taste buds and dopamine centers in our brain. Junk food is scientifically engineered to be irresistibly delicious and most people have a favorite junk food they can’t resist.

Junk food comes in many different forms: candy bars, salty snacks, fast-food burgers, pastry, soft drinks, etc. the common thing for all these categories is that they are made using the right amount of fat, salt, and sugar (more or less salt or sugar depending on if it’s sweet or salty food). The generous amounts of these three elements provide an instant dopamine hit to our brains and leave us craving for more.

The fast-food chains and candy/snack manufacturers know very well how to make the right product that will hit all the right buttons in our mouth and brain as we try it. Nobody is weak for liking junk food; it’s made for humans to like and crave it. You can learn more about it in the video below.
