3 Beverages to Avoid After a Workout

A successful training at the gym might make you feel entitled to a drink or two, but you should be careful what you put in your body if you don’t want all your hard work to be for nothing. Here are three types of beverages you should absolutely avoid.

Alcohol

Depending on when your training is, you may want to head straight to see your friends for a few drinks after you’re done in the gym. Doing so isn’t very wise, as alcohol may dehydrate your body and leave you with a bad hangover the next day. If you have to drink something, light beer is your best bet.

Coffee

Working out gives you plenty of energy so you don’t really need coffee. If you drink some, you’ll likely become anxious and end up tired sooner than you’d like. Go for decaf or an herbal tea instead.

Soda

There’s so much sugar in soda that you should avoid it at all times, especially after a workout, because it will give you a false sense of fullness without providing any nutritional value.
