Between banana bread, brownies, and cakes we’ve been in the kitchen a lot sharpening up on our baking skills during this pandemic. When it comes to cake pans, there are a ton to choose between and most of us don’t have enough pantry room for all of them. So, which are essential? These are the five cake pans you should own.

Bundt Pan

While these pans take up some extra room, they are worth it because you’ll get a beautiful eye-catching cake. Make sure you get a few in different shapes.

Round Cake Pan

For standard cakes, round 9×9-inch cake pans work best. Buy two of them for when you make layered cakes.

Rectangular Cake Pan

Large-batch desserts like blondies and sheet cakes should be prepared in rectangular 9×13-inch cake pans. You can also use these pans for savory dishes like lasagna and casserole.

Square Cake Pan

Brownies and bar cakes come out best in square cake pans. Make sure you get one that’s nonstick, so you don’t wind up with a dessert that stuck to the bottom of the pan.

Loaf Pan

Quick breads, pound cakes, and yeast breads should be baked in one-pound loaf pans that are 9x5x3-inches.
