Ingredients:
- 1 halved orange
- 1 whole nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 teaspoon whole allspice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 10 quartered apples
Instructions:
- Warm a large pot over medium heat, adding the apples, brown sugar, oranges, and spices.
- Bring the pot to a boil and then reduce the heat, allowing to simmer for 2 hours.
- Remove the orange halves and mash the apples with a wooden spoon. Uncover and allow to simmer for 1 hour more.
