Netflix has given us one of its most popular baking shows with Is It Cake?, and its second season was one wild rollercoaster. The talented baker Elizabeth Rowe emerged as its rightful winner, after baking some of the most hyper-realistic cakes that we’ve ever come across.

If you’ve already watched Is It Cake Too, you’ve already witnessed Rowe’s skills first hands. We’ve watched her craft cakes that look just like everything from Dr. Martens boot and a softball glove to a yoga mat and a paint-splattered tool bag, but are hyper-realistic cakes even her specialty?

Rowe is the founder of The London Baker, and she didn’t really make a name for herself by making cakes that look like replicas of real objects. Her brand mostly specializes in creating stunning wedding and celebration cakes, but she discovered she has a knack for making super-realistic desserts while preparing for one of her first baking shows, Halloween Wars.

After being told her cakes looked so realistic that they were scaring everyone off, Rowe found a show that allowed her to truly showcase her talents. She was drawn to Is It Cake? after watching the first season and thought she’ll end up making replicas of burgers and tacos, but the show proved to be much more challenging than she anticipated.

“I was completely surprised and gobsmacked to see some of the objects they put in front of us and what we would get to pick from. It definitely was way more intricate and complicated. I thought, ‘Oh bloomin’ heck, what did I get myself into?’” she told Tudum.
