Heart of Palm is a vegetable harvested from the inner core of certain species of palm trees. Often compared to Artichoke, due to its light, mild and crunchy consistency or to white Asparagus, the heart of palm is a healthy and low-in-calories vegetable.

Heart of palm is often used as a substitute for meat in a vegan or vegetarian diet and can be easily added to any dish from your already-built diet. Cooking with a heart of palm is not complicated as you could easily bake it, cook, sauté or eat raw from the jar. They are mostly found in the canned vegetable section of the grocery store. Finding fresh heart of palms might be challenging, but can be sometimes found in markets in the areas where they are produced (mainly in Costa Rica).

Heart of palms come with a large number of benefits. With their wealth of nutrients, hearts of palm may help promote digestive health, boost the immune system, enhance weight loss, prevent anemia, stabilize blood sugar and keep bones strong.

They contain a good amount of fiber, protein, manganese and vitamin C. All what your body needs.

Do not hesitate to add it to your salad, your sandwich or even to the salsa of your tacos.

Being native to the tropical regions in Asia and later spread to India, Africa, and The Mediterranean, Oranges are among the most popular fruits and has been associated with numerous health benefits.

Oranges are low in calories but contain a good amount of fiber and vitamin C, as well as a range of other vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. With their large amount of nutrients, oranges have some amazing benefits for the human’s body.

1. They are high in antioxidants
2. They enhance immunity
3. They help fighting cancer
4. They improve the heart health
5. They are rich in fiber
6. They boost the brain function
7. They keep the skin healthy

There are different types of oranges, and they all fall into one of these three categories: sweet, bitter and mandarins. Sweet oranges are usually eaten or used for juices, while the bitter oranges are used for making marmalades or liqueurs for example. Mandarins are closely related to oranges and fall under the same family, but they tend to be smaller, sweeter and easier to peel than oranges.

Oranges should not only be consumed as a juice but could also be added or used in many different recipes. Orange cake, salads with pieces of orange, orange beef, chocolate-covered oranges and much more.

You can also vary and use substitutions such as agave nectar for honey, vanilla yogurt for Greek yogurt (that way it eliminates the honey) and almond butter for peanut butter. You could also add some cinnamon and nutmeg. In other words, the possibilities are endless and all you need is using your creativity!

This dip is a healthy after-school snack for your children or can be made for a birthday’s party. To garnish the Peanut Butter Dip a little more, you can add some chocolate chips or peanut butter chips on top.

What do you need more than this?
