Ingredients

The ingredients you need are:
2 tablespoons brown sugar
8 medium carrots cut in half
1 4-pound corned beef brisket with a seasoning packet
2 bay leaves
1 medium head cabbage
3 1/2 pounds small potatoes

For the horseradish sauce you will need:
1 1/2 cups reserved cooking juices from corned beef
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup horseradish
1 tablespoon cider vinegar

For the mustard sauce you need:
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 cup sour cream
1/4 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

Put the brown sugar, brisket, seasoning packet, and bay leaves in a stockpot. Add water and wait for it to boil.

When it does, reduce the heat and cover it. Leave it to cook for 2 hours.

After that, you can include the carrots and potatoes. Let it boil again, reduce the heat, leave it to simmer covered for extra 30 minutes. You should try the meat and the vegetables and check whether they are soft.
