Have you ever had a banana split before? This classic ice cream treat is a favorite when folks head to an ice cream shop or creamery. Combining ice cream, chocolate, whipped cream, and a banana on top, it’s easy to see why this selection is so beloved.
Making a banana split is also a great choice for an ice cream treat made in the comfort of your own kitchen. Let’s learn how to make one!
- One medium-sized banana
- One scoop vanilla bean ice cream
- One scoop chocolate ice cream
- One scoop strawberry ice cream
- 3 Maraschino cherries
- Whipped cream
- Chopped peanuts
- Chocolate syrup
Start off by peeling your banana and cutting it into two pieces lengthwise. Set aside.
Next, go ahead and grab a large dish and fill it with one scoop each of vanilla bean, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream.
The Next Level
After this, place the two halves of the banana on both sides of the ice cream scoops. Arrange them so that they cover all of the three ice cream flavors.
Next, take a handful of chopped peanuts and sprinkle them on top of the ice cream and the banana.
The Final Step
Drizzle any amount of chocolate syrup that you want over the peanuts, ice cream, and banana and move to the whipped cream. Place a dollop on top of each ice cream slice. Finally, finish with the three Maraschino cherries, placing them on top of each dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!
