Oatmeal is one of the timeless breakfast staples and it’s incredibly easy to make, but there’s one dilemma we’ve all probably faced while making it. This delicious dish can be made with both water and milk, but which one should you use to make it the most delicious?

Going with Milk

The best way to make your oatmeal as creamy and tasty as possible is to add some milk to the mix. If you’re trying to cut down on fat and calories or simply don’t consume dairy, you can switch things up by going with one of many non-dairy types of milk.

Just Add Water

If you want to keep your oatmeal on the healthy side, water is your best bet. This ingredient is calorie-free, so it’s the best option for your health, but it comes with one major downside. Unless you’re used to it, your oatmeal will probably taste gummy and bland once you switch from milk to water.

Perfect Mix

Sticking to milk or water when making oatmeal is not a must. Mixing things up is also an option, and you can do it by adding a few drops of milk to your boiling water to make your oatmeal tasty and healthy at the same time.
