Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Fresh rosemary or other herbs
- Coarse sea salt
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and 1/4 cup olive oil. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Punch down the dough and spread it out on a greased baking sheet. Use your fingers to dimple the surface of the dough.
- Drizzle olive oil over the dough, then sprinkle with fresh rosemary and coarse sea salt. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
