Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 5 large eggs, separated
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brewed strong coffee, at room temperature
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • Cocoa powder and grated chocolate, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it. 
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. 
  3. Beat egg whites in a large bowl until soft peaks form, then gradually add 1/2 cup sugar until stiff peaks develop. 
  4. Beat egg yolks with the remaining sugar until creamy.
