Dish soap is one of the staples of every well-equipped kitchen since it’s regularly used in the clean-up process. It can do a great job cleaning up all sorts of dishes, but that’s not the case with all of them, and these three won’t benefit from being washed with it.
Dishwasher
You may be tempted to put dish soap in your dishwasher once you run out of dishwasher detergent, but this should be avoided at all costs. They can’t be used as a replacement for each other because they have very different formulas and things could get pretty messy if you mix them up.
Moka Pot
Moka pot is often used for cooking coffee and it can make this beloved beverage even better. If you use it on a regular basis, you should consider washing it with nothing but plain water because dish soup could end up removing its thin oily layer.
Cast Iron Skillet
Washing a cast iron skillet with dish soap isn’t strictly forbidden, but it should be avoided. Warm water and a sprinkle of salt are all it takes to keep it clean because dish soap could prevent you from creating the non-stick surface that this kitchen tool is best known for.
