With all of the dishes that we wash constantly, it’s easy to forget about the ones that are hidden in plain sight. Luckily, there are great opportunities to wash these “hidden items” that need our attention. Whenever you notice some extra space in your dishwasher, be sure to fill it up with these items that also require washing but tend to get neglected.

Microwave Turntable

Microwaves tend to get sticky very quickly, and cleaning the turntable so often can be a daunting task. Luckily, it doesn’t require too much room in the dishwasher. You can put it on the bottom rack like any other plate!

Dish Drying Rack

Unless your dish drying rack is made of wood, you can easily clean it on the top rack of your dishwasher. It may take up the whole area, however, so it’s a good idea to put it in the washer whenever you only have the bottom rack full.

Sink Strainer

The sink strainer is a tiny thing that gets gross quickly in your sink. The good news is you can add it to pretty much any dishwashing cycle since it requires virtually no space.
