Crisp, colorful vegetables are the foundation of healthy meals, but let’s face it, they can be finicky friends. One moment they’re vibrant and full of life, the next they’re wilted and inedible. Here are a few tips to keep your fruits and veggies fresh for longer.

Dive Into Hydration

Carrots and celery are notorious for developing that limp, rubbery texture. To revive them, try submerging them in a container of cold water. The water helps maintain their crispness and prevents them from drying out. Bonus tip: Peel, chop, and store them in a jar filled with water for an even more convenient, ready-to-snack option.

Leafy Greens Trick

Leafy greens like spinach, kale, and lettuce tend to wilt quickly. To prevent them from turning into a soggy mess, wrap them loosely in a dry cloth or paper towel. This absorbs excess moisture and creates a breathable environment,  similar to the conditions they enjoyed at the farm.

Vinegar Magic for Berries

For berries, prepare a 3:1 solution of water and white vinegar. Gently rinse your berries in this mixture, then pat them dry thoroughly. This acidic rinse helps kill any potential mold spores and extends their shelf life. Once dry, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
