Hamburgers are one of our favorite foods to make on the grill. This American classic patty which is now a worldwide favorite is a great treat if you’re looking to have a dinner that’s a little more unhealthy and exciting than the ones you have most days.

A dry hamburger is an easy way to ruin a meal, however, so you want to do all things possible in order to avoid that. Here are some tips to ensure that your burgers will be juicier than ever!

Don’t Overcook

The easiest way to ensure that a hamburger ends up dry is by overcooking it. While you definitely want to follow food safety precautions, don’t overcook your burger, as a patty that’s too well-done will always turn out the opposite of juicy.

Limit Working the Meat

Much of the liquid material of ground beef can be lost if you spend too much time forming and molding your hamburger patties. Try to limit how much your hands work the meat as you form the patties in order to ensure that these essential juices aren’t lost.

High Temperature, Less Time

While you might want to go “low and slow” when smoking meats in order to ensure that they stay moist and juicy, that isn’t the case with hamburgers. We like to get our grill nice and hot so that our burgers don’t need so much time and so that they cook faster, thus losing less moisture.
