Air fryers work by circulating hot air around the food, achieving a crispy layer without the need for excessive oil. This means you can make chicken nuggets that are lower in fat and calories but still have that satisfying crunch and flavor that kids (and adults) love. Here’s how you can make air fryer chicken nuggets your kids will love.

Ingredients:

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Bread crumbs or panko for a crunchier texture
  • Parmesan cheese (optional for added flavor)
  • Eggs
  • Flour
  • Your choice of seasonings (like paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper)

Instructions:

  1. Start by cutting the chicken breasts into bite-sized nugget shapes.
  2. Season the chicken pieces with your chosen spices.
  3. Create a breading station with three bowls – one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Dip each chicken piece first in flour, then egg, and finally coat it well with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Arrange the breaded chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the nuggets are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Pair these crispy delights with ketchup, barbecue sauce, or honey mustard for a fun and delicious meal.
