Italians came up with all sorts of delicious ways to refresh themselves during hot summer days. One of them is granita, a frozen treat that originated in Sicily. What makes granita different from other Italian frozen desserts like gelato is that you can easily make it at home. On top of that, it can be made in any flavor you like.

How to Make Granita

You only need three ingredients for granita: water, sugar, and flavoring. The most common flavoring is lemon juice.

To start off, heat up 4 ¼ cups of water and add 1 ½ cups of sugar. Mix until the sugar completely dissolves in the water and leave to cool off. Strain one cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice to remove the pulp and add to the sugary water.

Aside from lemon juice, you can use other fruit juices, applesauce, and seasonal fruit.

Next, pour the mixture into a plastic or metal container and place it in the freezer. Take out the container after 30 minutes and stir. You should do this at least five or six times.

After that, you can scoop out granita and eat it right away or take several chunks and blend it for a few seconds in a food processor to get a gelato-like texture.

This is how easy it is to make Italian Lemon Granita at home! It’s so refreshing. Ingredients: * 300 g sugar (1 cup + 1/2 cup) * 1 liter water (4 cups + 1/4 cup) * 1/2 liter lemon juice (2 cup + 2 tbsp) @Primochef Notes: – Once the granita is in the freezer, you’ll need to stir the mixture every once in a while to avoid that it becomes too frozen. – You can store the lemon granita in the freezer for a few days. Forget boring old chocolate chip, there’s a new sheriff in town! Prepare for an explosion of flavor with M&M Cookies that melt in your mouth like tiny bursts of rainbow happiness. So get your apron on and let’s get baking. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups M&M candies

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. 
  2. Cream softened butter with both sugars in a bowl until fluffy, then incorporate eggs one at a time, adding vanilla extract. 
  3. Separately, mix flour, baking soda, and salt, then slowly blend with the wet ingredients. Fold in M&M candies evenly. For extra visual appeal, save some M&Ms to press on top of the cookies just before baking.
  4. Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing them out. Top with extra M&Ms. 
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are soft. Keep a close eye on them. Remember, the secret to soft cookies is pulling them out of the oven just before they look done.

Are you looking for a scrumptious dessert to top off your next dinner party? Well, cherry cheesecake bites are a novel item that would be sure to surprise and delight your guests. Here’s your guide to making cherry cheesecake bites to satisfy your sweet tooth as well as that of your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 16 ounces phyllo
  • 21 ounces cherry pie filling

Instructions:

  1. Beat the cream cheese and a 1/4 cup sugar in a stand mixer for 2 minutes on a medium speed. Add sour cream and beat again. Finally, add egg and vanilla and repeat the process.
  2. Refrigerate the cream cheese mixture for at least 1 hour. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  3. On a cutting board, cut the phyllo into 128 squares.
  4. Working with 4 squares at a time, brush them with butter and sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon sugar onto each square. Indent the centre to form a cup. Repeat with the remaining squares.
  5. Scoop some cheesecake batter into each cup and place the squares into a muffin baking tray.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, until golden brown.

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts, roughly chopped

Instructions:

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter and honey. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir until smooth.
  2. Add the powdered sugar to the peanut butter mixture and stir until well combined. The mixture will be thick.
  3. Fold in the crispy rice cereal, making sure it’s evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  4. Let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes, or until it’s comfortable to handle.

Homemade cookies are unparalleled in their deliciousness. There are so many ways to make them and exciting flavor variations to try. This recipe uses desiccated coconut and dried cranberries for a super sweet, indulgent, and satisfying cookie. Once cooled these cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week. 

Ingredients:

(Makes 12 cookies)

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup dried cranberries

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 360℉.
  2. Sift the flour and bicarbonate of soda into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the sugar and the butter and mix until completely combined.
  4. Crack the eggs into the bowl and beat into the mixture.
  5. Add the desiccated coconut and dried cranberries and mix until evenly spread. 
  6. Line a large baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  7. Using your hands divide the mixture into evenly sized balls until you have 12.
  8. Place them on the baking tray ensuring they have enough space to spread.
  9. Place in the oven for 15-18 minutes, ensuring they’re cooked all the way through.
  10. Transfer to a cooling rack and leave to cool for 10 minutes before enjoying.

Forget boring old chocolate chip, there’s a new sheriff in town! Prepare for an explosion of flavor with M&M Cookies that melt in your mouth like tiny bursts of rainbow happiness. So get your apron on and let’s get baking. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups M&M candies

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. 
  2. Cream softened butter with both sugars in a bowl until fluffy, then incorporate eggs one at a time, adding vanilla extract. 
  3. Separately, mix flour, baking soda, and salt, then slowly blend with the wet ingredients. Fold in M&M candies evenly. For extra visual appeal, save some M&Ms to press on top of the cookies just before baking.
  4. Scoop dough onto baking sheets, spacing them out. Top with extra M&Ms. 
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are soft. Keep a close eye on them. Remember, the secret to soft cookies is pulling them out of the oven just before they look done.

Are you looking for a scrumptious dessert to top off your next dinner party? Well, cherry cheesecake bites are a novel item that would be sure to surprise and delight your guests. Here’s your guide to making cherry cheesecake bites to satisfy your sweet tooth as well as that of your guests.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 16 ounces phyllo
  • 21 ounces cherry pie filling

Instructions:

  1. Beat the cream cheese and a 1/4 cup sugar in a stand mixer for 2 minutes on a medium speed. Add sour cream and beat again. Finally, add egg and vanilla and repeat the process.
  2. Refrigerate the cream cheese mixture for at least 1 hour. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  3. On a cutting board, cut the phyllo into 128 squares.
  4. Working with 4 squares at a time, brush them with butter and sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon sugar onto each square. Indent the centre to form a cup. Repeat with the remaining squares.
  5. Scoop some cheesecake batter into each cup and place the squares into a muffin baking tray.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, until golden brown.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts, roughly chopped

Instructions:

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter and honey. Microwave for 30 seconds, then stir until smooth.
  2. Add the powdered sugar to the peanut butter mixture and stir until well combined. The mixture will be thick.
  3. Fold in the crispy rice cereal, making sure it’s evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  4. Let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes, or until it’s comfortable to handle.
  5. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  6. Place the chopped peanuts in a shallow dish. Roll each ball in the peanuts, pressing gently to make sure they adhere.

Homemade cookies are unparalleled in their deliciousness. There are so many ways to make them and exciting flavor variations to try. This recipe uses desiccated coconut and dried cranberries for a super sweet, indulgent, and satisfying cookie. Once cooled these cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week. 

Ingredients:

(Makes 12 cookies)

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup dried cranberries

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 360℉.
  2. Sift the flour and bicarbonate of soda into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the sugar and the butter and mix until completely combined.
  4. Crack the eggs into the bowl and beat into the mixture.
  5. Add the desiccated coconut and dried cranberries and mix until evenly spread. 
  6. Line a large baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  7. Using your hands divide the mixture into evenly sized balls until you have 12.
  8. Place them on the baking tray ensuring they have enough space to spread.
  9. Place in the oven for 15-18 minutes, ensuring they’re cooked all the way through.
  10. Transfer to a cooling rack and leave to cool for 10 minutes before enjoying.
