Crepes are one of the quintessential French desserts, and if you like eating them on a regular basis you’ve probably been tempted to buy a crape pan. If you still haven’t welcomed this kitchen tool into your home, but you’re thinking about it, here are a few things you should take into consideration before making the investment.

Different Pans

Buying a special crepe pan is not a necessity if you already have a good non-stick pan at home that gets the job done. Any skillet with a flat base will do the job just fine, and it comes in handy if your pan has low walls because it will be easier to flip your crepes.

Waste of Space

If you already have a pan you can use for making crepes, buying another one will be a waste of space. Unless you have a lot of room in your kitchen cabinets and enjoy making crepes a few times a week, this investment is completely unnecessary.

Other Dishes

A crepe pan is worth the money if you can figure out how to use it to make other dishes. In addition to crepes, it can also be used to make flatbreads, fried eggs, tortillas, and toast, among other things.
