Ice cream is the perfect dessert any time of year. And making your own fresh batch at home is easier than you think. This classic vanilla recipe will go perfectly as a topping on your favorite pie or to enjoy on its own.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream, chilled
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whip the chilled heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture until combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a container and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  5. Scoop and enjoy your homemade vanilla ice cream!

Variations

If you want to try variations, you can make a chocolate peanut better version by replacing the vanilla with ½ cup of coco poser and ½ cup of peanut butter. The process is the same.

For a strawberry cheesecake version, keep the vanilla and add 1 cup of pureed strawberries and 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs. It’s as simple as that! Enjoy experimenting with other flavor combinations, as well.
