Foods That Will Naturally Help You Sleep Better

So many people have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, and diet can be such a big help to combat this problem. Eating foods with certain properties can help you get a better night’s sleep naturally, so before you try other artificial sleep aids, eat these foods and set your body up for the restful sleep you so deserve.

Cherries

Cherries have a naturally high level of melatonin, which is a hormone that helps us fall asleep. You can either eat cherries as a late night snack to get in one last boost of melatonin, or you can drink pure tart cherry juice, which will give the same effect.

Bananas

Bananas are high in potassium and magnesium, which both help with muscle relaxation. Because of that, eating a banana during the day will help you later on when you are trying to fall asleep.

Almonds

A lack of calcium can be detrimental to the quality and quantity of your sleep. To combat that, eat a handful of almonds. These nuts are full of calcium along with iron and other nutritional benefits.

Spinach

For the same reason as almonds, spinach is an amazing source of calcium. It’s also high in iron so you can feel refreshed the next day and less groggy.
