When we think of granola, the first thing that comes to mind is yogurt parfaits. And we’ll admit that granola is amazing with yogurt, but there’s so much more you can do with the pantry staple. Granola can be used to add a nice texture and crunch to sweet and savory dishes. Here are five unique ways to start using granola.

Soups

Breadcrumbs have been done so many times before, so why not try granola which is equally crunchy? Before serving vegetable-based soups, top them with a handful of granola.

Salads

Sure, vegetables like carrots and cucumbers add a nice crunch to salads, but so does granola. Before eating your salad, finish it with some granola on top.

Fish and Chicken

Instead of using breadcrumbs to coat chicken or fish, try granola. Smash some in a bag with a spoon until it gets to a crumb-like consistency and then coat your meat.

Baked Goods

Oatmeal works really well in baked goods, so naturally, granola should be just as tasty. And it is! Add a handful of granola to the batter next time you make pancakes, cookies, or muffins.

Casseroles

Give casseroles an extra crispy crust by topping them with granola before baking them.
