Get Your Home Smelling Like Fall with this Pecan Pie Recipe

There’s nothing like the sweet taste of pecan pie, and making it at home is easier than you think!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup light or dark corn syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of melted, unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups of chopped pecans
  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust, either homemade or store-bought

Recipe

  1. First, if using a frozen pie crust, you don’t have to thaw it. But, you do want to heat up a baking sheet in the oven while it’s preheating so when you put the filled crust onto it can bake fully through.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350 F and put in a baking sheet if using a frozen crust.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, mix the corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla extract together.
  4. Gently fold in the pecans and then pour the mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Bake 60-70 minutes or until the pie registers 200 F on a thermometer.
  6. The last step is very important! Make sure you let the pie cool on a cooling rack for at least 2 hours before serving. If you want it to be warm, you can put the slices into the microwave, but you need the pie to cool all the way to have the filling set.
  7. Enjoy with ice cream or on its own!
