Have You Tried The Amazing Swiss Tartiflette?

Calling all cheese and bacon lovers! The Swiss Tartiflette is a yummy, meat and dairy dinner perfect for the whole family. Since it comes from Switzerland, it’s not hard to imagine the locals enjoying this hearty delicacy after a long day of skiing. But honestly, it really doesn’t matter where you live—this dish is guaranteed to raise a smile at any time of the day.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of potatoes
  • 200 g smoked bacon chopped into small cubes
  • 2 sliced yellow onions
  • 1 reblochon cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions                 

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into 2 cm cubes.
  2. In a large pan, fry the smoked bacon for 3 minutes and then add in the onions and garlic. Fry until they become clear and then add in the potatoes. Fry until golden-brown on all sides. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Move the content of the pan into a clay pan that can go into the oven.
  4. Preheat an oven to 400 F.
  5. Take the crust off the cheese and cut it in two. Place the cheese on top of the potatoes mixture and move it into the oven.
  6. Bake for about 20 minutes until the cheese has melted. Move into serving dishes and enjoy.
