Calling all cheese and bacon lovers! The Swiss Tartiflette is a yummy, meat and dairy dinner perfect for the whole family. Since it comes from Switzerland, it’s not hard to imagine the locals enjoying this hearty delicacy after a long day of skiing. But honestly, it really doesn’t matter where you live—this dish is guaranteed to raise a smile at any time of the day.
Ingredients
- 1 kg of potatoes
- 200 g smoked bacon chopped into small cubes
- 2 sliced yellow onions
- 1 reblochon cheese
- 2 garlic cloves
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into 2 cm cubes.
- In a large pan, fry the smoked bacon for 3 minutes and then add in the onions and garlic. Fry until they become clear and then add in the potatoes. Fry until golden-brown on all sides. Season with salt and pepper.
- Move the content of the pan into a clay pan that can go into the oven.
- Preheat an oven to 400 F.
- Take the crust off the cheese and cut it in two. Place the cheese on top of the potatoes mixture and move it into the oven.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until the cheese has melted. Move into serving dishes and enjoy.
