Salmon is a great and filling fish to eat without having to worry about fat content or calories. Salmon is super healthy and gives you great omega 3 fatty acids, which are good for an array of health problems, including heart disease. Make this salmon with homemade teriyaki sauce and you can be satisfied while still being healthy.

  1. Peel and finely dice a 2 cm piece of fresh ginger and put in a bowl.
  2. Dice 2 garlic cloves and add them to the bowl as well.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and 1 tablespoon of rice wine. Finish it with a drizzle of olive oil and whisk together.
  4. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Pet them in a bowl or plastic bag and pour in the teriyaki dressing. Let is sit in the fridge to marinate for at least 20 minutes, up to 2 hours.
  5. Heat up some oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the fillets skin side down and cook for about 2 minutes before you pour in the marinade on top.
  6. Cook for another minute and then flip over to cook on the other side for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Serve with any remaining sauce on top and finish with sesame seeds.
