Salmon is a great and filling fish to eat without having to worry about fat content or calories. Salmon is super healthy and gives you great omega 3 fatty acids, which are good for an array of health problems, including heart disease. Make this salmon with homemade teriyaki sauce and you can be satisfied while still being healthy.
- Peel and finely dice a 2 cm piece of fresh ginger and put in a bowl.
- Dice 2 garlic cloves and add them to the bowl as well.
- Add 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and 1 tablespoon of rice wine. Finish it with a drizzle of olive oil and whisk together.
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Pet them in a bowl or plastic bag and pour in the teriyaki dressing. Let is sit in the fridge to marinate for at least 20 minutes, up to 2 hours.
- Heat up some oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the fillets skin side down and cook for about 2 minutes before you pour in the marinade on top.
- Cook for another minute and then flip over to cook on the other side for 3-4 minutes.
- Serve with any remaining sauce on top and finish with sesame seeds.
