Tofu is a great alternative to meat. It is high in protein and when it is cooked properly, it is delicious. If you are fed up with soggy, squishy tofu, follow these steps to create crispy tofu that becomes the star of the meal.

Drain The Tofu

Make sure you properly drain the tofu before you cook it. Put your tofu on a plate and then press on it firmly using a few sheets of kitchen paper. For maximum impact, place a chopping board on top of the tofu and leave to drain for twenty minutes.

Prepare Your Ingredients

Next, mix cornflour together with a little salt, pepper and garlic. Chop your tofu into small cubes or strips.

Coat Your Tofu

Coat the tofu in the cornflour. Heat a non-stick frying pan with oil. Fry the tofu on each side until it is golden around the edges. Do your best to cook evenly on each side.

Season and Serve

Season with a little soy sauce or chili to serve. Tofu is best served with sticky rice in a tasty teriyaki sauce.
