Make Your Own Pico de Gallo!

What is your favorite salsa to dip your tortilla chips into? We happen to be huge fans of pico de gallo, a simple salsa which main ingredients are diced vegetables like tomatoes, green peppers, and onion. Pico is so easy to make at home, and here’s a recipe we use to make an unbeatable batch of it.

Ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 serrano pepper
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • Sea salt

Instructions

  • Start off by taking a medium-sized glass bowl and setting it aside. After you’ve done this, it’s time to get dicing!
  • Dice the tomatoes into small pieces that are about ½ inch long and square in shape. This will take a while, so try not to get overwhelmed. Once you’ve done this, add the diced tomato to the bowl.
  • Repeat the same process with the red onion and add it to the bowl. Next, take your serrano pepper, remove the stem and seeds, and do the same thing.
  • Finish off the veggie and herb ingredients by adding the cilantro. Now you’ll want to add the lime juice, lemon juice, and olive oil to the bowl. Next, add sea salt (about 3 or 4 pinches) and stir well until the mixture is combined. Taste it, and if you think it needs more salt, add it to your discretion.
  • Cover, refrigerate, and consume within 3 or 4 days. Enjoy!
