When creating a salad at home, it’s tempting to always reach for the olive oil. Whilst this delicious oil works really well in a range of salads, there are lots of different oils out there, all of which impart a slightly different taste to your favorite salad. Check out these oils for a touch of inspiration.

Avocado Oil

Rich green in color, avocado oil lends a gorgeous, buttery taste to your salads. Try mixing one tablespoon of avocado oil with one teaspoon of red wine vinegar, a pinch of salt, and a handful of chopped basil for a quick, simple salad dressing.

Walnut Oil

Walnuts are high in super-healthy fats, and a walnut oil dressing goes beautifully over a blue cheese salad. Mix one tablespoon of walnut oil with one teaspoon of balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt. You could also try drizzling walnut oil over slices of apple, for a quick and healthy snack.

Flaxseed Oil

This golden-hued oil is subtle in flavor and so will work on almost any salad. Mix one tablespoon of oil with one teaspoon of lemon juice and a pinch of salt, this works really well over a caprese salad.
