Making homemade chocolate can be a truly sweet adventure, as long as you’re ready to take baby steps and give it some time. The chocolate-making process requires a lot of patience, and there are some things you shouldn’t rush when doing this at home.

High Heat

One of the most common mistakes people make with homemade chocolate is burning it as it melts. This usually happens when you turn up your temperature to speed up the process, but using low or medium temperature and stirring your chocolate leads to the best results.

Mold Issues

After melting your chocolate, you’ll have to pour it into the molds, but it’s not the best idea to do this while the chocolate is still hot. Give it some time to cool down, and make sure your molds are clean and properly dried because moisture could end up ruining your chocolate.

Freezing the Chocolate

After pouring the chocolate into the molds, you’ll be tempted to place it inside your freezer and call it a day, but this should be avoided at all costs. Cooling your chocolate too quickly may leave you with grainy bits because the oils will separate, so let it go solid without using the freezer.
